The Worry Remedy

I just love how God cares for us. He really takes the time to tend to our every need and our every concern. And He knows us oh so well.
He knows that in this life, we will worry. We will worry about this and we will worry about that. And in His omniscience, He wrote a very detailed prescription to heal us from the ailment of worry.
In Philippians 4:6-8, the Word says, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.”
Wow. How much plainer can the Word get than that? God is letting us know that instead worrying, we should tell Him what we desire and give Him thanks while doing it. Once we do this we can expect His peace to cover us.
Additionally, He admonishes us to replace our worry with thinking that will turn our thoughts toward Him rather than toward our troubles. He tells us to think on things that are true, praiseworthy and the like.
I thank God for providing us with practical advice regarding our tendency to worry. It is my prayer that we all heed His advice and be anxious for nothing!
