He Tried It

Here is a personal testimony that I want to share. This past Wednesday was challenging for me. I was having a difficult day at work, I was concerned about an important relationship in my life, and I was praying and fasting about a ministry that I am involved in. Throughout the morning my mind was being attacked constantly. The enemy (Satan) was lying to me all morning about each of these areas. About my job, he filled my mind with thoughts of inadequacy. About my relationship, he filled my mind with thoughts of I'll never get it right. About the ministry, he filled my mind with thoughts of doubt about its growth. My spirit was so heavy. Keep in mind, all this was happening while I was at work as I was trying to focus and be productive . Simultaneously however, I was fighting the discouragement and lies. While sitting at my desk, I was constantly praying. While at my desk, I would quietly speak out scriptures. This went on ALL morning. I mean Satan was relentless in his attempt to get me to believe him. But I kept fighting. At about noon, it was like God did a "suddenly" in my spirit. Suddenly, the spirit of heaviness that I had been feeling all morning was lifted! It truly felt as if Satan was like, 'Forget this! This girl is not falling for my tricks. I give up!" And he fled. He fled because I was able to resist him by submitting to God and standing on the truth of His Word (James 4:7). I felt immediate relief as a result. The lesson in this testimony: never stop fighting. Apply James 4:7 to your life when you are going through tough times. Stand on the truth of God's Word. And you will win!
