Oh Give Thanks!

We have so much to be thankful for. But sometimes we get distracted by what we think we lack that we neglect to focus on what we do have (in abundance).

I want to encourage us to practice being thankful. Take some time to think about all the provisions that God has made in your life. The fact that you are able to read (this blog and anything else for that matter) is something to be thankful for. The fact that you are able to see (this blog and everything else for that matter) is something to be thankful for. The fact that you are breathing while reading this blog is something to be thankful for. You get my point, right?

In my own life, I try to make it a point to consistently thank God for the "little things" or the things we may sometimes take for granted. For example, when I take a shower, I thank God for hot running water and providing the soap to wash with. When I go to bed at night, I thank God for the warm blankets that cover me. When I'm hungry, I thank God that I have food readily available for me to eat.

Being thankful may take practice for some of us if we aren't accustomed to it. But I encourage you to start making it a practice today.

Oh give thanks unto the the Lord for He is good!! (Book of Psalms)
