Cut the Noise

Never let anyone or anything undermine what God has revealed to you.

I had a fresh experience with this last week. In my prayer time one morning, I believed that I heard a Word from God regarding a matter I had been dealing with. It was right on time, it comforted me and gave me the peace I needed.

That peace remained with me until later on that evening. I was watching Braxton Family Values on TV and one of the characters said something that was a direct contradiction of what God had spoken to me that morning. Immediately, I lost my peace. For a few moments I began to doubt what God said. But the Holy Spirit reminded me that God's Word is true no matter what society or pop culture may say, think or believe . Thankfully, I was able to refocus on Him and regain my peace.

This example was a good lesson for me because it highlighted the need for us to cut the noise in our lives. "Noise" is anything that is contrary to God and His Word.

People will always have something to say; people will always have opinions; there will always be "popular belief". But contrary to popular belief, there is always the Word of God. Stand on it. Believe it and cut the noise!
