I Am Not (That) Important

You know what I realized this week? I am not that important. And the same can be said for you.

In the grand scheme of things, life is so much bigger than us. But sometimes we can get so caught up in ourselves that we forget. We forget that some people have bigger problems than we do. We forget that we are here for a purpose and not our own personal fulfillment. We forget that God's plans are above ours.

Although we are not important in and of ourselves, we are very important to God. We are important to God because He wants to use us to serve others. We are important to God because He wants to use us to glorify Him. We are important to God because He created us for good works which He has prepared for us to do (Ephesians 2:10).

So the next time we get caught up in ourselves - what we want or woe is me, we should remember what's important. And it is not us, but Him.
