You Are Not Strong

Nope. Not in and of yourself.  And me either. Recently, I was reminded of this.  Over the past week, I had multiple things on my plate that I was trying to keep organized and focus on. Unfortunately, I wasn't doing a good job. I was feeling a bit flustered and overwhelmed. I cried out to God about it, specifically asking Him to give me strength to work through the tasks that were before me.

Can I just tell you that I am so  glad that I had enough sense to do that?!  And when I tell you that I immediately felt refreshed, strengthened and renewed...I mean I was refreshed, strengthened and renewed!  And I am still feeling strong in this very moment!

But the key here is that I had to gain my strength from God.  Scripture tells us to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might (Ephesians 6:10).  There is nothing we can do without Him.  Even completing daily mundane tasks are impossible without His help.  Never should we be so naive or haughty to think otherwise.

So if you are weak in any area of your life, do not despair. Jesus is our help. He really has an opportunity to show up and show out through us in our weak moments.  Paul said it best in 2 Corinthians 12:9, when he says, 'But he (Jesus) said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.'

Call on Him!  He truly is the joy and STRENGTH of our lives (Psalms 28:7)!
