No Compromising

It saddens me when I hear instances of God’s Word being manipulated to fit our lifestyles. For example, when we don’t want to give up our money, we begin to question the relevance of the scripture: “Is tithing in the New Testament?” Or if we don’t want to attend church regularly we reason: “I can still be saved and not go to church”.
As children of God, we have to be very careful to avoid this practice that seems to be gaining steam the longer we remain on this side of heaven.
Scripture warns us not to be deceived.
God’s Word is God’s Word. We should not add to it or subtract from it.
James 1:22 puts it plainly: “But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.” (NLT)
Let us not be foolish. Take God’s Word for what it is and do what it says without compromise.
