I’m not sharing this to brag, but I’m sharing this to show that if God can help me, then He certainly can help anybody!

Lord knows my natural bent is to worry. I have been seeking God about this issue, praying for deliverance and the ability to let go and let Him take care of me in all things.

Two things happened to me last week that tested me in this area. The first scenario happened at work. I overheard a coworker on the phone with a client that I helped regarding a certain sales opportunity. My coworker was discussing the same product I had previously discussed with the client. Now keep in mind, sales is a very important aspect of my job. It doesn’t look good if I don’t make my sales goals. So every sale matters and here it was sounding like I was about to lose a sale that I had already made!

Rather than confront my coworker about it, I just chilled. I said to God in that moment, ‘what you have for me is for me. You will take care of me and I ain’t gonna worry about it’.

Say what??? That was totally a moment of growth! Normally I’d be all uptight and anxious, making sure I let my coworker know that sale was mine already. But nope , not this time! I let God handle it.

The second situation happened when I was driving my daughter to practice. I could see a storm brewing to the west. I really don't like storms. My normal response would have been to get really anxious and fearful about the approaching storm. Instead, though, I relaxed and said to God, ‘You control the winds, waves and storms. Protect me, Lord '. And just like that I was good; no fear, no anxiety; just a calm and a peace. Another moment of growth!

Again, I am not sharing this brag. But I am making a case that when we rely on God and trust in His strength, we can overcome.
