It’s Still Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving has come and gone. And so has Christmas. Nonetheless, giving thanks should be a way of life for us, not just during the holiday season. There is always something to be thankful for.

First Thessalonians 5:18 (NLT) tells us, “Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”  In other words, no matter what we are going through, we need to find something to be thankful for. No matter the circumstance, look beyond the circumstance and thank God (for something) anyhow!

This may not be easy, but it’s doable because God says we can do it. This is what having a lifestyle of thanksgiving is all about. It’s about being thankful independent of what’s going on in our lives and how we feel about it. Instead, it’s about solely focusing on who God is in our lives.

We can thank Him because He is good. We can thank Him because He is faithful. We can thank Him because He loves us. The list could go on and on.

Think about it…What can you thank Him for right now in this moment? I know there is something. Yes, that’s it! Go ahead…give Him thanks!
