Needing Peace?

I started to to feel my anxiety level rising. I was being bombarded on all sides...work was piling up, clients were calling, family stuff was getting under my skin. With all that was coming at me one time, it truly felt like a storm raging in and around me. I’ve been in this place before. Here I was again, but this time was a little different.

I thought about the time when Jesus was in the boat with the disciples. The seas were becoming dangerously rough. The disciples were overcome with fear. Speaking from fear, they asked Jesus did He see what was going on and if He was going to let them die.

“Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.” (Mark‬ ‭4:39‬ ‭NKJV‬‬)

In that moment when my anxiety began to peak, I was feeling just like the disciples. I felt like I was going to die. But just like in the scripture, Jesus came to my rescue. He spoke to my situation. He reminded me of what He shared with me before when I felt like this...He reminded me of His Word.

Scripture says, “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” (Isaiah‬ ‭26:3‬ ‭KJV‬‬)

If you lack peace, seek the Lord. He is the Prince of Peace. There is an old hymn that says, ...‘oh what peace we often forfeit...oh what needless pain we bear...all because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.’

Whatever it is, take it to Him now. Restore your peace today.
